Baby gifts are my FAVORITE gifts to make and give. They're always so small and sweet and just yummy!
Dan visits a family every month who just had a new baby named Zane, so I jumped into crafting mode and came up with some cute gifties for him.
The first thing I made was a onesie with a Z on it. With a name like Zane, you've got to capitalize on the Z, huh? I then knit a little white beanie to match it. I LOVE a beanie!
Directions for Onesie-
Gerber onesie (or whatever brand you want)
Iron On Stabilizer
Cute fabric
Double sided fusible web
Thread to match fabric
1- Iron stabilizer to the front inside of the onesie (it needs to be larger than what is being sewn on the front)
2- Print a large letter out from your computer for a template and cut out the letter
3- Iron the double sided fusible web onto the back of the fabric
4- Trace the letter IN REVERSE onto the fusible web that is fused to the fabric
5- Cut out the letter (make sure letter is facing the right direction when turned right side up)
6- Peel the fusible web backing off of the letter and iron it onto the onesie
7- With a tight zig zag stitch or satin stitch (which I use), sew around the edge of the letter having half the stitch on the fabric and the other half through the plain onesie
8- Peel the stabilizer from the inside of the onesie
I got the pattern for the beanie out of my favorite knitting book Itty Bitty Hats.

Here's the other little beanie I made for baby Zane...
Can you tell I like the letter Z?
The pattern for the beanie also came out of the Itty Bitty Hats book, but I put my own twist on the beanie by adding a felt Z.
It's very super hero looking! :)
