Every year while we are decorating the tree, we hand out a new ornament to each child. The ornament is usually something that symbolizes what they were all about or what they enjoyed that year. So our tree is filled with Disney, Harry Potter, Star Wars, football, soccer, baseball, cupcake and Spongebob ornaments-- and SO many more!!! It is so fun to see the evolution of ornaments!!!
Scarlet looks forward to this event from the beginning of the school year! A new t-shirt, a medal AND a popsicle?!?!? Well, it's a dream come true!
Scarlet used to be very competitive at this event. My dad used to be very competitive at this event! lol But I must admit, this year and last year, she was very much into the water breaks and not so much into the running! :)
Twice a month Scarlet gets together with all the other 8-12 year old girls in our church for something called Activity Days. Their leaders are 2 of my closest friends, Julie and Megan, and they ALWAYS do the most adorable projects.
For Christmas they had the girls collect little socks and make this FANTASTIC advent calendar. How cute is it?!?!? Each sock was filled with a goodie and a lovely little task for the girls to complete that day. Scarlet looked forward to waking up each morning and seeing what good deed she was going to do.
SUCH A LOVELY IDEA!!!
Scarlet went with a Hello Kitty Christmas theme from the $ section in Target. The sockies were really adorable and really added a sweet look to her room.
Scarlet was so proud of her advent that she took these pics herself and I happened to find them on my camera looking for other pics. Love that!!!
