We always dress up in the kids' team colors for their games. Here are C & S at Patrick's soccer game- right after that we headed over to cheer on Chan Chan's team wearing our blue and orange! I don't think all the blue and orange in all the world is going to make that team any better though, I must admit! LOL
It is sooooooo much fun watching Scarlet play soccer!
Okay, that's a total lie.
It is soooooooooo frustrating watching Scarlet play soccer! Truth be told-- she is disastrous.
Half the time she forgets to play and stares off into space and the other half she is elbowing and kicking the other players and the ball isn't even near her! Too many years watching the madness of her two older brothers, I think!
Now and again she will get into it and play really well for a few minutes and then she goes into the Scarlet zone and it's all over until someone screams her name and she snaps back into reality. Okay, semi-reality!
The other day she said this to me-- "Mom, you know how I'm always day dreaming and staring off into space while I'm playing soccer? Well, it's because I always trying to find my name on the soccer banner."
Excellent. The first step is admitting you have a problem...
On our way home from the Santa Maria Tournament, we stopped at the Santa Barbara Pier for clam chowder, lobster bisque and fish & chips. OH YUM!!!
They have a little shack on the pier that I once saw on Rachel Ray's show, $40 a Day where they serve the MOST DELICIOUS clam chowder. It's so delicious. SO DELICIOUS!!! It is so fun and relaxing eating clam chowder or crab out on the pier watching all the boats and surfers go by. I LOVE DOING THIS!!!
Afterwards, we headed to the pier's yummy candy store and got our fill of fudge, taffy, caramels, licorice, gummies, and chocolate covered everything! No one loves a candy store like the Gredings! :)
More soccer... honestly... how much more can we take? lol! :)
This tournament is for Patrick's club team. Yes, he's on 2 teams. The high school soccer team and his club soccer team. It's a lot, but it's great for him and he loves it.
He did great at this tournament! He played so well and it was a pleasure to watch.
We drove up to Santa Maria and stayed over night in a hotel. We watched a lot of soccer, swam in the pool, and ate. Not much else to do in Santa Maria, but it was relaxing and that was perfect! While there we ate at Olive Garden (haven't done that in years), In & Out, and Pannera (LOVE Pannera!!!). Again, not the finest dining, but I didn't have to cook it, so it was heaven!
Well, last night was Chandler's last baseball game of the season. The baseball gods did not smile down on the Cardinals this year... last place! Poor boys! I completely blame the coaches! (Dan being one of them...lol!) No, it was just a dud of a year and that's all there is to it. C'est la vie!
Anyway, I was in charge of the snack, so this is what I made... Baseball Cookie Pops!
Because I have a little sickie at home and I wanted to make these quickly, so I used a sugar cookie mix and a tub of ready made frosting. Soooo much faster than from scratch. To make them even faster, use the tube of pre-made sugar cookie mix or the pre-made squares!
The kids loved them! And even though they weren't from scratch, they were DELICIOUS! Dan LOVED how yummy they were!
