Happy New Year friends, family, readers and anyone else who happens to stumble upon my little site!!! I feel filled with optimism and hope for this coming year and I hope you do too! I'm excited to work on and accomplish some goals, take tons of photos, craft, scrapbook, cook, sew and above all... MAKE SOME MEMORIES!!!
One of my FAVORITE things about the new year is new calendars. I LOVE a new calendar!!! I used to change up my calendars a lot, but I have come to settle on 2 that I can't live without. Not because of how they help me organize or keep track of my life, but because of how they make me FEEL. Their images uplift and inspire me and I get giddy when I know a new month is coming up and I'll have a new picture to look at.
The first calendar is my kitchen calendar and it is always a Gooseberry Patch one. I adore them! They always feature a DELISH recipe and a picture of that food and I usually always end up making the dish during that month and I can't remember ever being disappointed with the turn out.
The picture for January is a yummy plate of chocolate chip pancakes and I must admit, I have been craving them ALL DAY! C'mon... who doesn't want to crawl right into that picture and start eating??
So the other calendar I MUST get is a Charles Wysocki one. This one always goes in my office, so I can stare at it and daydream while working on a project or talking on the phone. Now talk about stepping into an image... I could just live in his art! I feel like his art is what I want my life to look like. I ADORE it!!! I want to come back as a Charles Wysocki character in one of his harvest paintings. I really do! lol
Oh, yes and I ALWAYS want to live in his little houses. Look at the one on the bluff above. I belong there! Don't I? :) This is probably not a normal line of conversation, huh? I should probably stop! :)
Okay, so I couldn't resist. I HAD to show you the January image. I want to be the blonde girl at the bottom skating away with the muff. Is that too much to ask for?
I hope you all had fun opening your calendars today!
Oh, one more thing... I forgot to tell you. I have a little calendar elf who lives in my house. Did you know that? I've never seen him, but I know he exists because I have never had to change my calendars from month to month... ever. I wake up on the first of the month and lo and behold it's been flipped up and a new month is exposed. I think his name is Chandler and I LOVE him...
